Grape seed oil finish

For oil finishes, I use grapeseed oil for all objects likely to be handled frequently, such as bowls, dishes, and other everyday items.

This oil has the following advantages:

• Readily available and moderately priced
• Food-safe
• Thin and easy to apply
• Does not stain the wood
• No taste or odor
• Does not go rancid on the wood

Application is as follows:

• Spread a generous amount of oil onto the object to be treated with a clean cloth
• Let sit for 15 to 30 minutes
• Wipe off excess oil
• Allow to dry for 24 hours

If necessary (no excess oil when wiping), repeat the process.
